Empowering Thought

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”.

Galatians 2:20

When you and I made the decision to receive Jesus into our lives, we were literally saying “Jesus, I am going to follow you all the days of my life, no turning back….”. You then began a journey and a life with Him. According to the Bible, the life you are now living is fueled by the power of the Holy Spirit in you. “Christ in you the hope of glory”. It is His life that fuels you and energizes you daily. Therefore you and I cannot live this Christian life in our own strength. When you live it in your own strength, you will fail.

Although like any journey, there are going to be distractions, obstructions and challenges on the way. Jesus already encouraged His disciples and us, that no matter what happens on the road, we are to stay focused and follow hard! He has already given you the victory and advanced you ahead of the trouble. Each day you are admonished to go to the throne room and draw your strength from His presence. During your time in His presence, the Father reminds you of who you are and what you have. This then enables you to navigate through the day.

One way I exhibit the life of Christ in me, is by drawing on the scripture that I have been crucified with Christ. As a result, I have also died to the old life in me, the old ways of doing things, relating, etc.

After His death was resurrection. The resurrection empowers me in my life. The resurrection is new life. Therefore, I am learning to respond to the different challenges that come my way, with new insights gained each day from Him. I keep following Him not looking back, not looking around, and not allowing the distractions to suck me in.

I want to encourage you to continue to follow Him and His way. It is my prayer that you are infused with the strength needed to stay focused on Jesus. Remember He started this life in you, and He will definitely perfect everything that relates to your life.

Follow Jesus, do not go ahead of Him, Let Him lead, and Stay focused.
