Meditation:

Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.

1 Timothy 2:2

God’s purpose in calling you to pray for others is firstly His desire to see all of His creation come to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

God’s desire is that your prayers are more inclusive and urges you to extend prayer to all those in leadership positions. The Bible says that by lifting political leaders and all leadership in prayer is actually for your benefit. By praying for them they will be open to God and will be led by His Spirit in the way they rule and their decision making. Therefore, by praying for our political leaders and all those in leadership will bring peace and harmony in our life.

Prayer is the greatest weapon in your hand to bring about change in everything and as a result satan works hard to minimise its power. Do all you can to keep praying and use prayer to bring change to the best of your ability.

It is easy to be critical of those in leadership but, for the believer, your responsibility is to lift them up in your prayers. Through your continued prayer, you are limiting satan’s power and control and calling heaven to intervene in the hearts of those in leadership, in your community, your city and your nation.
