Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:19

When I slow down on my route to work and take time to take in my environment, I am always surprised at the new things and even the beauty that is all around me. The new things I notice, were always there, it is just noticeable to me because I slowed down. When you slow down, you suddenly notice things on the same route you have never seen.

My favourite is taking a new route and coming through unfamiliar streets. The unspoken question at the back of my mind is, ‘what if I get lost?’.  I hear the Lord saying, He is always travelling with you and wants you to trust Him with the journey.

Curiosity, I have discovered, did not kill the cat (or anybody else). In fact, when you stay open and trusting, you come into the new, you expand your horizons and the resulting possibilities are endless.

Slow down today. Take time to take in your surroundings. Look at the scenery and have a fresh perspective on everything.
