The True Spirit Of Christmas Is Giving

“Christmas will always be as long as we stand heart to heart and hand in hand. It is the most wonderful time of the year”

Empowering Thought

For this is how much God loved the world – he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.

John 3:16 TPT

My whole family knows how much I love the Christmas season. I go all out in decorating the house and I have a pre Christmas party for all the friends we hardly see in the course of the year simply to catch up with them over great food cooked with a lot of love and tell them ‘you are still loved even though we haven’t seen much of you this year …’.  I buy lavish gifts for those who are not expecting anything. I love to surprise people in the same way I love to receive unexpected blessings. My joy during the Christmas season is infectious. I’m sharing it with you now.

But I get it from the generosity of our God to a broken world when we didn’t know Him, He  reached out to us. While I have been a Christian for more than four decades I’m still humbled and touched by how good God is and has been to me. The bible says He gave me His very best in Jesus Christ. While I don’t think we should be kind only during the Christmas season but throughout the year. However, I notice people’s hearts are open during this season so I look for opportunities to say a kind word, give off my smile, let somebody in who is even waving a not so nice finger at me in the traffic. Generosity opens the hearts of people and then you have an opportunity to share the message of God’s generosity to them.

So I know I can’t have all my friends and social media friends around this Christmas season but I’m putting a challenge out there let’s all change our city, community and our country this season by flooding the streets with kindness. Buy a coffee for the person behind you in Starbucks, allow somebody to go in front of you in the supermarket and if possible pay for somebody’s shopping. Give the homeless person you see on your daily commute a generous tip. Let us melt the wickedness and selfish mentality in our world with kindness this Christmas season.

Will you join me and share your stories on your social media platforms. Let us be different and be Christians in not just our words but our actions too.

The truth is you can never out give God so get ready to experience God’s generosity in your own life.

My prayer is that you have a joy filled Christmas and in the coming year experience the favour of God like never before.

Abundant Blessings
