Meditation:
“And David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” The LORD said to him, “Go up, for I will deliver them into your hand.”
1 Chronicles 14:10
You have unlimited access to the throne of God as a child of God. There is no limit on how often you approach your Heavenly Father or how many times you can petition God. Prayer is the avenue for you to bring your requests before Him. The Bible says God is waiting for you to be kind and gracious to you. Your part is to petition Him in prayer.
A lesson from the life of David is a man who did not take his privilege of unlimited access to God for granted. He ‘inquired of God’ before taking action, making a decision or taking anything for granted.
While God wants you to boldly come into His presence it is important to approach God and relate to Him with reverence and respect and not a sense of familiarity. Familiarity will hinder living with a fresh perspective and awareness of who God is and what He is going to do and how He is going to do it. He will fulfil His word to you but be open-hearted and inquire of Him as David did. Then, wait for His answer.
